Sponsor a Rush Hour
At the heart of the Southbank Sinfonia programme sits the free Rush Hour concert series. Throughout the year, these entirely free events draw an enthusiastic and diverse audience who come to hear our dynamic young performers without the formalities often found at classical concerts.
These weekly concerts welcome many people to discover live orchestral music for the first time and also provide the perfect opportunity to delve deeper into classical music. Whether you are new to classical music or want to learn more, you could not hope for better company than Southbank Sinfonia’s enthusiastic young explorers leading the way.
At every concert they introduce the music, sharing why they believe it matters and opening a window on what it’s like to be part of the orchestra. The friendly and informal atmosphere is enhanced by a complimentary glass of wine on arrival, and the chance to come or go as your rush hour schedule requires.
Recent Rush Hour Concerts have featured BBC Proms favourite John Wilson, big band virtuoso Guy Barker, acclaimed pianists Alessio Bax and Melvyn Tan, as well as artists from the Royal Opera House and Academy of St Martin in the Fields. With repertoire spanning from Baroque through to contemporary jazz, every week there’s the chance to try something different and broaden your own musical horizons.
A distinctive way to support Southbank Sinfonia is to sponsor your own Rush Hour Concert. It’s a great way to put your name to one of the central features of our programme and share your belief in the worth of making classical music accessible to all. In turn, we can help make it an evening to remember for you and your guests. You may like to:
- Use the opportunity to celebrate a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary, or because you are passionate about the repertoire or style of music the orchestra is exploring
- Sponsor as a group of friends, or bring along the members of your society for an uplifting evening of music
- Conclude your working day by bringing a group of your colleagues and clients to see the exhilarating teamwork of this young orchestra in action
Sponsorship of a Rush Hour concert begins at £500 with further options for post-concert hospitality where you and your guests can meet the orchestra’s talented young players.
