Mentorship is a concept at the very core of Southbank Sinfonia.
Partnerships with internationally renowned arts organisations mean our musicians learn and are inspired by their experiences with the orchestra. In turn, they are perfectly placed to take their enthusiasm and knowledge and inspire the next generation.
Across the year, we aim for all our players to become mentors to young people. Players not only play a leading role in one of our many educational ventures, but are also encouraged to think creatively about how their young counterparts in each project may continue to be involved with the Southbank Sinfonia experience. This might mean coming to subsequent concerts, watching rehearsals in action as we prepare for a performance, or perhaps playing side-by-side with us on special occasions.
