Amadeus

Southbank Sinfonia plays a starring role in the National Theatre’s highly acclaimed new production of the iconic play Amadeus. Originally staged at the National Theatre in 1979, winning multiple Olivier and Tony Awards before being adapted into an Academy Award-winning film, Amadeus imagines the rivalry between composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri and how it would change each other’s fate forever.

Remaining 2017 performances (up till 18 March) are now sold out but we are pleased to announce the production will return to the National Theatre in January 2018. Visit the NT website for details. The NT Live performance, originally broadcast live to cinemas on 2 February 2017, has some ‘encore’ screenings at cinemas in the UK and beyond. Visit the NT Live website for further information.
