Ligeti Concert Românesc
Prokofiev Symphony No.1 ‘Classical’
Tchaikovsky Symphony No.6 ‘Pathétique’

Simon Over conductor
Eugene Lee Associate Leader

As this year’s players conclude their remarkable journey in celebratory style, they will be joined by friends from previous years of Southbank Sinfonia for a truly symphonic programme culminating in Tchaikovsky’s powerful Symphony No.6.

The evening opens with Ligeti’s Concert Romanesc, specially chosen by the players themselves and full of virtuosity and drama. An unconducted performance of Prokofiev’s sparkling Classical Symphony directed by Eugene Lee follows, reprising one of the highlights of this year’s Anghiari Festival in Tuscany.

In the second half  the alumni will join forces with our 2015 players for Tchaikovsky’s powerful Symphony No.6, after which we invite you to celebrate all that the musicians have achieved this year in a post-concert party with drinks and canapés.
