Lachlan Radford

Lachlan completed his 4th year of study at Auckland University in 2009 where he finished his Bachelor of Music (honours) with first class honours. Prior to this he held a position as a double bass intern with the Auckland Philharmonia in 2007, after which he began a professional freelancing career performing with all of the professional orchestras in New Zealand. Lachlan has also performed with the NZ Trio, 175 East and various chamber ensembles in Wellington and Auckland.

Outside of the classical realm Lachlan regularly performs in other genres on the double bass, or on his secondary instrument, trombone. He has been involved with several outfits covering genres such as country, jazz, folk, and reggae. Lachlan also plays a tenor ukulele for some harmonic joy!
