Kate is extremely passionate about music and is currently a fellow at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studied flute and piccolo with Philippa Davies, Sarah Newbold and Sharon Williams. She graduated with a first class honors degree and a MMus in performance with distinction and additional CRD award.
She has a busy freelance orchestral career and holds the position of ‘Sub-flute’ in the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also recently worked with the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, English Touring Opera, Opera East and New London Orchestra.
As well as orchestral playing, Kate is a keen Chamber Musician; as a member of the Aris Wind Quintet Kate is a ‘Live Music Now!’ artist and has toured Europe giving recitals. She was ‘Artist in Residence’ at the Combret Music Festival, 2009 with her flute and harp duo ‘Duo Astraea’ and has recently performed Mozart D major Concerto at the Cadogan Hall, London.
