Alan studied at the Royal College of Music (RCM) as a Foundation Scholar, and recently graduated with First-Class Honours. Whilst at the RCM, Alan had the opportunity to perform Jolivet’s Trumpet Concerto for Piano and Strings (2007), and received the award for the Best Concerto performance later that year.
As a soloist, Alan has also performed both the Haydn and Hummel Trumpet Concertos, and has appeared on the BBC’s “One Show” playing the trumpet solo from the Beatles’ “Penny Lane.” In addition, Alan has performed with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
